I left Sony for Fuji for the exact same reason. The fact that they are still making updates for cameras as old as 2012 is crazy.

That 50mm 1.8 is the same lens as the Leica 50mm F2 except the Leica version is $1, 800 and I got my Lumix version for $47 in a bundle. Real talk. ❤

Always been a lumix user, First camera own was a g7. Got the gh5 was going to get a full frame Sony camera then Lumix released the S5ii. I have used the Sony cameras and like Ian said in his video the AF on the S5ii is just as good as the Sony. Lumix are making cameras that are doing the same specs as Canon or Sony for half the price.

Good video, I ditched Sony, until they start making mirrorless bodies with built-in eVND, full sensor height recording and BRaw. The Panasonic S1HMk2 will no doubt bring all of these features as Panasonic already filed a patent for the built-in eVND.

I recently posted a similar video about the S5IIX and am currently working on a video where I demonstrate the Blackmagic Video Assist 7” 12G SDI… which so far imo is absolutely worth the price of admission, if you own the S5II/X. The image is thicker and more flexible in post. Really only a big deal if you CG in post. But wow.

Thanks again for sharing, I’m curious to see what you do with the Panasonic.

Like the video and review from experiences. Why did you move from Pana S lenses to the Sigma line?

I switched when the S1 came out a few years ago from sony and canon, I've been loving their system.

I agree with you on the slo-mo boredom. Pointless slow-mo is more irritating to me now than people who shooting at f1.4 at all times for no storytelling/logical reason.

Using the Lumix GH6 w/Vlog has been fantastic. Looking hard at the S5IIX as well. Thanks for the review..New Sub! Blessings!

Ho lasciato pure io sony vendendo sia a7r V che sony a1 e l'ho fatto proprio per i tuoi motivi e ora sto felice con la mia s5ii X.

The HDMI blocking the tilty flippy screen gets to me to lol I'm thinking of trying a right angle cable to see if it helps at all 🤔

i upgraded my a73 to an fx3 and my gx85 to a s5iix.

major upgrades, i love the s5iix for its perfect stabe, full frame lowlite performance, fan/unlimited rec time/recording into a 2TB t7 shield.

But there's 2 major problems i've been experiencing, and wanted to ask if theres a way to mitigate, or, if i possibly got a lemon. (still within return window)

the big problem is moire. its sometimes hard to spot, but pretty much always there. ubiquitous on tee shirts, and noticed it on brick buildings etc.
very distracting and something i never noticed so frequently on every other mirrorless camera.

i tried reducing sharpness to -5 in picture style and using promist 1/4 filters, but its still there. (shooting 4k24 and 4k60, moire in all of it).

the other issue is at extreme isos (51, 200 etc), i notice theres a kind of flicker. basically the high iso noise behaves weird and it creates a "pulsing" effect. u can see the light levels jump dramatically at specific intervals, looking at the levels on atomos ninja v's scopes.

i tried synchroscan to chg the shutter angle by 1degree intervals but this simply chgd the rate of the pulse but didnt signif reduce it.

i suspect the "pulsing" is more a function of high isos than low quality led flicker.

anyway, when i watch the lumix s5iix official short films and some other ytb short films i dont see super noticable moire or flicker, so wondering if theres anything else i can try to reduce it significantly.

cheers

The image quality of the talking head segment in this video is absolutely stunning and beautiful. Which camera was that shot on?

There was also a DJI collaboration with the Lidar system

Love your review, how do you compare the image out of the s5ii vs the fx3?
