I don't know when did it start that people are making fun of Nikon like it's a joke. Sony alpha series just got better within the last 2 year or so same time Nikon and Canon entered the ring.

I have both cameras for event coverage. I can say in Photo the Nikon wins, with files and tap to focus large box AF while hating its back focus when an eye is detected on the background. Nikon Z6ii ergonomics, menue & handling is better. While Sony A74 wins in Video 10bit, funtastic for events and Sony autofocus is spot on. But photo files is frustrating to edit, hard to recover overexpose photos. Customizable buttons is a plus, but menu is complicated. Also A74 has very slow buffer writing using regular Sd Cards, very frustrating when you use for hybrid.

Nikon Z6 II with grip feels like less of a brick compared to Sony A7 IV.

For sedate photography the af is fine. For wildlife and sports the af didn’t get fixed until the Z9 and beyond.

i use both sony and nikon, they both shoot great but the nikon layout is better and alot more comfortable to hold

I would say A7iv hv better AF then z6ii. But for the handling, monitor colour, menu is z6ii better. (personal feeling) and this is why I using Nikon.

Before I started photography somebody told me that if I get a Nikon then I’d have to get used to the controls being different if I ever upgrade my camera.

I still hate the color science or lack of color in Sony's arsenal and I love Nikon's classic colors and I had a D3 so I could get used to the buttons. Even the B roll on this video is anemic and pure sony.
