I could’ve swore it says in the Bible that he didn’t really understand why they wanted to kill Jesus and even gave them a different person to choose

Pilate did in fact believe Jesus was innocent and he thought did nothing wrong, but he was forced to kill him due to pressure by the Jewish priests. Some historians believe Pilate became a Christian after Jesus’ death, so this begs the question: Did Pilate go to heaven for believing in Christ? Or did he go to hell for killing him?

Jesus existed. Apart from the many written accounts which became the four gospels, and the oldest of which has been dated to 125AD, there is also evidence form Josephus the Jewish historian, who was not a believer, and Tacitus. But the biggest proof of Jesus existence is that He is real today and if you ask Him to reveal Himself to you, He will. He is all good and loving :) be blessed

As like what Lord Jesus Christ Said, You will see the Son of Man seated on the Right Side of His Power.

One washed His disciples' feet, the other washed His hands of Him.

One asked, "What Is truth?"
The other was the emblem of truth in human form.

One died on a cross.
The other committed suicide.

The imagery is powerful between the two

So is he good or bad? I mean he said that Jesus was just and kind and was supposedly to release Jesus, but the people said instead to crucify him

Btw, Jesus rose from the dead.
Pilate didn't quite end his life 😉

Of course he existed. It would be highly unlikely for biblical authors to make up a name. Also, he was governing an area in constant rebellion against Rome, so it's not exactly fair to say that he wasn't nice because he suppressed them.

Talk about bias reporting. Yes they've proven Pontius Pilate existed, but the character described in the bible does not coincide with what's known from actual history. Pilate was described as a cruel, unforgiving person with no respect for the Jews. Who often executed people without even a trial. Nothing like the person mentioned in John 18:28-40 and Matthew 27.

According to the gospel of nicodemus (not in the Bible) Pilate tried to free Jesus and was always kind to him, in fact he fasted when Jesus died as well as Abenender.

"'He was very harsh." Disregard the history of the province that had revolted several times and killed Roman legionaires and politicians alike.

You just won the battle and you promised to convert the empire. Here's the conversation: Roman Emperor Constantine: Who's this Jesus guy? Court guy: He's a Jewish guy we nailed to a cross oh about 270 yrs ago. Constantine: Crucified, oh no, no ... we can't have that. What happened to the rest of the Jews? Court guy: They revolted, we burnt their Temple, slaughtered a bunch and ran rest out of town. Constantine: Good blame them.
Court guy: I'll tell the priests to make it so.
