Trick to cleaning out a badly burned pot or pan

We have all been there. I put my curry on then got distracted. Next thing you know: charred curry. My mom learned this from my Aunt Leslie and it really does work!

Use a hefty squeeze of dishwasher detergent (liquid or powder) and then fill the pot with water. Bring to a rolling boil for 20-30 minutes. Let cool, pour out the water, and wash the pot like you normally would. All the burned on bits are soft and easy to wash out!

My pot was burned even worse than yours. I have been trying for days to make a dent in the crud at the bottom of it, and nothing worked. I was about ready to give up and throw it away, and then I saw your video. I didn’t have any liquid dishwashing soap, but I did have The dry and little packets so I threw one in the pot poured some water in it and brought it to boil. It was so gratifying to see the water turning black and feel how smooth the pot was as I stirred the water with a wooden spoon. Same with Grease oil bring to a boil flesh down tiolet and Pot is clearly Clean

Thanks! I tried boiling water then scrubbing with Dawn. Didn’t work!! Got off a lot but not all. I’m going in to boil with dishwasher soap and water.

I don't know why but NONE of these methods here on YouTube are working for me. I've tried lemons and white vinegar, water, white vinegar and baking soda, this method too, with dishwasher soap and it got a touch off but by no means was it easily coming off like what you show in this video. The water didn't even turn black after over 20 minutes of boiling. Anyone know why or have any other suggestions?
