toothpaste works when the iron is hot. I've used that method since I was little. turn on your iron and leave it to get hot, rub some toothpaste on it (please unplug it before you add the toothpaste). get a dry cloth, and clean away. it'll be really steamy and minty and can easily burn so be careful

Toothpaste baking soda and little vinegar mix in a bowl and make paste apply on plate, leave for a few mins turn iron on, take green scrubber scotch Brite and clean off... If hands getting hot, turn off iron, take to bathroom, wet scotxh Brite clean and repeat until the dirt and mixture has washed off
