I'm 16 and I'm shooting a wedding in July and your videos have helped me with everything from techniques, iso, lighting, etc. I'm working 2 jobs to save up to get a higher quality lens for portrait photography. You're the best!

When someone asks me to take a picture of them I be shooting 50 pics getting low, telling them to pose, change angles, find good lighting but then I ask them to take a picture to me back and they just take one🙃

Another thing is learn to use your camera in manual. Read your camera's manual, take a class, youtube it. I actually took a class through a community college and it was $90 for an 8 week course (3 hours at every meeting). So worth it!!

Also, folks, just know that Jessica is a Canon shooter so all of her examples are Canon. Nikon products are just as good.

Hey, Jessica, your remarks have really shed some light on how ordinary people can be made extraordinary in defining moments. We just have got to be faithful with doing the little things while moving towards the vision that we all have.

I’m 14 years old and my dream is to become a professional photographer, I’ve been doing it for a while now. And I’m still finding my style but I think I want to become a portrait photographer. And I have a Nikon B500 and I’m saving up to get a D750 because I know that camera and the specific lenses I’ve seen you use on here work really well for portraits. But I love photography and I’m going to pursue it. ♥️♥️

u don't necessarily need a full frame camera to be consider a professional though right? The Angry Photographer says: "A professional photographer is a master of composition and light manipulation, it is no more complex than this." like in his own words.. i'm just curious

Great tips, I feel like I learned all of this the hard way lol.

But I was hoping for more information on the *professional* part. Like after getting all this, what's next? There are certain tools I've only seen pros use like tablet surface for precise editing. And then of course how do you deal with models/model agencies.

You should definitely do a part 2 to this! Thanks!

I'm loving the kit lens, even though I have a 50mm prime for portraits and a wide angle for landscapes, but yeah i still use the kit 18-135mm lens

I think a lot of people starting off in photography think the camera body will be the main thing they need to invest in. I say invest in good lenses first. Then worry about investing in a more expensive body when you are more experienced. Start off small, learn and improve. Then like you said, upgrade when you need to be challenged. Love all your videos!

This video should be called "Getting started in Photography."

The part about joining a photography community has me really excited. I've been doing photography since '09 and I didn't even think to look for a community of photographers to get feedback and help from!

Ugh! So excited! Thank you!

Michigan! That's where I'm from as well. And it's true, other than home gardens, I can rarely find nice nature and scenery to photograph.

As a techie researching for a camera was really fun and you learn a lot. But the same time it can make you indecisive about which camera to get and prevent you from doing what your suppose to do, which is photography!

So glad I found you! You were definitely in my head answering these questions so a big thank you to whoever asked them.

I love photography. Thanks so much for those tips. I was finally able to upgrade from my phone camera to a Nikon D3000. Love your channel. :)
