Interview Preparation | Best Practices (from former CEO):
Welcome to another educational HR video on how to pass a job interview. I share five tips and five best practices. Topics I cover in Interview Preparation | Best Practices (from former CEO) include the importance of appearances, and looking like THE candidate. Speak in their terms. You need to use the same terminology / lingo as the interviewers. avoiding miscommunication, anticipating and answering traditional interview questions, as well as behavioural interview questions, preparing success stories, learning there beforehand. Research the company. Learn the function and background of the interviewers. Do mock interviews, to rehearse and get feedback. This can help you interview very well.

Thank you for being here and reading this, and have yourself an amazing day!

"You call them the same thing THEY call them". This is gold. Makes total sense but I've never heard anybody give this advice before. Great channel.

I like your sense of humor. I have always seen it as a sign of strength and confidence when used the right way. I loved your videos and how basic they were. I have an interview today and am not too nervous. I will be myself and act as professional. If it was meant to be it was meant to be.

You're the FIRST person EVER who has convinced me to do an interview rehearsal

Thank you for doing these videos! Most of them coincide with what I learned in Business Communications, so its an amazing refresh for new graduates that have spent later years finishing their major, and removed from the lesson.

I belong to several men's fashion group where interview dress attire had been hotly debated.

In today's casual attire world, if one were to apply for a job where, say, the men wear Henleys and Khaki pants, what would you do? There are a few choices one could make: wear formal business attire (suit with dress shirt), mirror the Henley's and khaki pants, or dress one level up (Henley, khaki with a sport coat OR dress shirt and dress pants with no coat). My thought is that if you wear formal business attire, you risk outshining the manager, but if you appear casual (without the level up that I mentioned), you risk not looking like a serious candidate even though that's how everyone in the offices dresses

What would your expectation be as hiring manager?

(I think it goes without saying that if you cannot find out the dress culture of the company, to err on the side of caution by wearing formal business attire)

Hi! I would like to thank you for your videos. I’ve been on the hunt for a new job and passed a couple interviews. The last one landed on a job offer. I followed some of your tips. Especially regarding the questions to ask at the end of the interviews. I think this closed the deal.
So thank you very much.
