I am visiting Krakow today. They had a memorial at 5 oclock. All the sirens of the city sounded, and then everyone stood for a moment of silence. Then, Polish flags and songs.

As a Korean, my heart goes out to the Poles. Coming from a people who've also lost monuments, historical artifacts, infrastructure, and so many human lives to foreign actors, you are not alone. Not that yall needed to hear that, Poles are tough as nails.

Interesting fact is, that the hungarian troops stationed near Warsaw refused to fight against the Poles. Actually the hungarians supplied them with ammunition, food, medications and provided shelter for the wounded.

The Polish were some of the toughest fighters in WW2, and they deserve every bit of the praise they get.

Also fun fact, General Edward Rydz-Śmigły, the former commander of Polish Forces before the war, actually escaped internment in Romania and joined the Underground Army but went under another name, because he still felt guilty for Poland's loss. He died in 1941-2 due to a heart attack though.

Oh man! This makes me really cry, I mean boy-scouts these would have been at least 13 years of age or older. Such a massive burden that they took unto themselves, in their finest hours, never wavered, pure in devotion to the cause and laying down the ultimate sacrifice for freedom. May these glorious heroes be forever honoured and remembered, may their sacrifices never be forgotten.
