This is why I think learning a variety of heroes and becoming flexible is seriously underrated. Depending on what the rest of your team comp looks like, some heroes are going to just straight-up be bad picks.

The real problem is get 4 other randoms to change up the entire team comp. That's hard to do.

I like to do this poke/brawl comp where you have ram, mei, cass, zen, bap. It's nice since you can switch from doing poke to brawl when you need to heavily contest an objective or when you see an opportunity to wall off a target. Only weak link to the team is Zen as if the enemy plays dive and goes after the zen. It can be difficult to keep him alive since the main thing to save him is Immortality field, however, with a mei wall separating the heals and Ram to vortex the enemies, they won't be able to escape super easily.

A good Genji can play with sigma if he knows his dash breakpoints and can poke then dash in to finish someone that sigma poked down then dash right back out. Especially if sigma lands his rock + primary fire combo on someone. It’s like a free kill for Genji

A lot of poor combos and compositions seem to come from failing to decide whether the team is supposed to win fights by getting early kills or by forcing the enemy to run away.

Like if you play Ana or Moira you can adjust your playstyle after the fact, but if you're thinking of playing Mercy or Kiriko you have to consider whether the rest of the team is on the same page.

as a new player, i think not any character is "bad" it only depend on how you work with your teammates, i myself didnt knew that compositions and team synergy where a thing cuz anyone only instant pic instead of building up something, so having to switch the whole team to counter some character make it even fun in my opinion.

Playing as a Lucio or Mercy with the other feels so bad to play, you literally spend 70% of your game heal botting.

I hate when my tank picks junker queen. I know shes not bad. But people that play her well are far and few in-between.

I’m a Lucio main and the amount of insta-lock one trick pony mercy players there are make my life hard. People will even ask me to play Lucio since they see he’s my most played hero (not one trick though) then I have to explain that he is the worst combo in the game with mercy. We both just end up permanently stuck on healing.

Any time a person picks Moira, I make sure I have a self heal.

70% of the time i lose a comp match is when the enemy team has a mercy and lucio ngl

even in diamond people still dont understand that playing lucio mercy with a full brawl comp doesnt work

I've won more than I've lost duo qing lucio with mercy in diamond. I target 80% to 90% healing time when with a mercy and I usually get top healer focusing healing on the tank while the mercy can focus damage boosting. I hope my 60% win rate on lucio in diamond can speak to this effectiveness. You just need to change a few mechanics and have communication and this combo works absolutely fine

Every time I went Lucio Mercy, I won. Now, either my mercy was a god and I was playing well, or the enemy team was trash, I just don’t know which
