It makes me feel so incredibly weird knowing that the internet was, at one point, in a state where Masahiro Sakurai himself could just ask on Nintendo's official website "Yo, who do you guys wanna see in Smash 2?" as what may be peoples' first time hearing of a Smash 2.
It feels like such a far cry from today, where every character is announced like a month beforehand and probably began development very soon after the game actually released.
