Don't forget that as you read this, David Calhoun and the FAA are busy trying to figure out a way to return the death max to service with virtually no changes to the core principle of the autotrim, no pilot over ride, no sensor disagree off switch, just another crash.

This reveals the inherent sociopathic /dissonant approach to decision making we have seen throughout many corporate entities. Lack of real impact awareness despite hyper certification and quality processes overruled by the profit at all costs rule. The disconnect between decision making and actual impact is the reason why monopolies can be so dangerous. We have seen deaths from big pharma, tobacco, food, automotive, engineering etc etc etc.

It cost Boeing less to produce the 737 Max IN THE SHORT TERM. I'd argue, that it will wind up costing far more, or even force Boeing out of business in the long term. The guest pilot is absolutely correct. Boeing should have redesigned the 787 as a short haul aircraft

This is very much the truth. With my early experience of flying a 737 classic I can say Boeing stretched it to much and have messed it up with the max costing so many innocent lives.

Way back when they had to redesign to engine nacelles to that "hamster" shape to gain ground clearance, something told me that was an engineering band aid to what should have been a new design. I used to be a die-hard Boeing person, but I've lost a lot of respect for the company now.
