Thank you. I think that’s why I need a mechanic. You guys are pretty smart.

Excellent backyard job. Thank you for this. Also brush off some of that rust, clean it up since you're already there. It will add years in some cases to the material.

6:42 great idea to disconnect the shaft without removing the ball joints. well done.

I would just replace the hub once removed with a brand new one, less work and also there might be undue wear to the hub. The difference in price for the bearing and complete hub isn't that awful much and you don't have to worry about knowing there is wear to the hub. Remember you will also need to get an alignment after this for sure.
Thnx for video, it was explicit enough.

From Scotland the home of rusty cars. I have just done this job and the snap ring was as bad as yours. I gas welded a washer to what was left of the snap ring and levered it out. Buying a new hub is unnecessary. I did like the video.

Hey, that was awesome!…I replaced a wheel bearing on my Echo by taking the hub off the car..and pounding in a new bearing…liked your method better…took me a full day to figure it out!

So it's been over 2 years since this video.
May I ask, that press set that you use to press the bearing back on, is it still in good condition? Is the long bolt and long nut ok and not stripped?
I'm just curious, because several reviews are saying that the bolt and nut get totally stripped.
But I wonder if those people who report that are perhaps using an impact wrench.

Big job, thank you for sharing. I think I will go to the mechanic on this one. I did the struts and cv axle on our yaris, but this seems too advanced for me.

What is the name of the tool that was used to press in the bearing. That looks so convenient. I would like to find one

Hello, if you have a heatgun it gets easier. you heat it up and the two parts will expand/shrink differently. Also WD40 helps. Regards

I tried doing the job exactly how you did, But I had to turn the wheel and I tried starting the car and it wouldn't start... I had to get it towed out of the water.. 🤔..

Rather that cut with a grinder it is made of case hardened steel . Put it in a vice put some pressure on it then hit it with a hammer and it will split. Wear goggles just in case of a splinter flying off.

So you were not going to remove the knuckle from the tie rods... but @12:17 it looks like you put a new knuckle lol
