Number 1 should be the Indian government and its total lack of will.

simple solution, we force companies in our respective countries to stop outsourcing, increase taxes on those companies who outsource, give cuts to ones who do not.

Main point in india (as an indian) in one hand they arrest the scammer in other hand they take money and leave them. Done.

I’m glad he didn’t say poverty as a excuse, because I’m from Brazil where people are poor and not a lot of people resort to this ( we do have advanced technology and loads of IT professionals as well )

Tariffs on India Service centers. Before they take effect 1) the companies that rushed jobs over there to save money will put pressure on the Indian Government, 2) the companies that perform these services AND everyone that is employed there will be motivated to protect their livelihoods, and 3) the Indian government will stop the scamming industry

The legit companies who employ indian call centres are complicit also. If they employed people where the majority of their customers are based ie uk, America, europe. And told customers our employees are based where you live (where there's less corruption), then people would know to ignore any foreign sounding calls. At this point we have the 'legitimate' call centres in india also, so people cant tell if its a scam or not, as easily.

It's disgusting, they should all be closed down, they steal from the vulnerable, don't know why they are allowed to operate. Police should be doing what the good hacker is doing but they are the ones allowing it!

Why aren't governments issuing penalties then? Would only seem fair to me that there should be some penalty until India cleaned up their offices. The world is pointing fingers at eachother calling out all scams they see nowadays, they should tackle this problem too

I’m not trying to make a racist comment, but in my personal experience, I’ve unfortunately dealt with several scammers who happened to be Indian—like the time I bought a broken PS3 controller from someone who claimed it worked perfectly. I’ve also come across people who used Hindi to speak poorly about others, assuming no one could understand them—thankfully, a friend of mine did and let me know. These experiences happened outside of India, and while it’s frustrating to encounter this kind of behavior repeatedly, I also want to acknowledge that I’ve met many honest and respectful Indians as well. It’s important to judge individuals for their actions rather than generalize, even when patterns seem to emerge.

As someone from the south Asian area, India and the surrounding countries are pretty corrupt and because of that you either farm in the countryside or work in the city. The city is just super corrupt and many people just join in on it because it's a way for then to get money in a country that just has no opportunities. Most people don't care enough about others to converter their struggles and therefore only care for themselves with a damaged moral compass. It's pretty wild.
