If you will I'd like to share my little "secrets": for collars I use polyethylene foam tubes for thermal insulatione tubes (d=35 mm, hole d~15-17 mm) and inserts cutted from kitchen foam sponges. And usually I pre-germinate seeds in the pieces of the kitchen sponge.
Mike, how thick do you make pads for microgreens? Of course I can try different myself, but ... :-)

We have tried this for a couple of years and our pots are thick plastic but the problem is the water still gets too hot in the sun. I have fitted a water pump etc but still gets too hot so why am I the only person with this issue and everyone else is ok in hotter countries than mine ?
