My main gripe with apex is that it’s BR first. They have a playlist with more traditional gamemodes but it’s very clear that they treat this “mixtape” playlist as a warmup mode. I can honestly say that the most fun I’ve had in the game was a few weeks ago when the control mode was permanently available and not on a 20 minute rotation

i was witness to a lot of overwatch gamers trying apex when it blew up, while i had played both games quite a lot. My take on the shift is that, because the overwatch community is so ranked-focused, all the streamers were getting right into ranked as soon as possible, but i think for a game like apex its crucial to your enjoyment of the game to just learn in a fun and casual environment like pubs, where people are more willing to fight. i remember watching flats and emongg playing apex and getting disheartened cuz ranked is just not as fun if youre not accustomed to the game yet. my advice to new apex players would be dont be afraid to run it up in pubs until youre comfortable doing ranked

As an apex player I appreciated this video, for the 3rd parties I recommend learning armor swaps. When you kill someone go into their death box and grab their armor as fast as possible, it will swap your current cracked one and give you more health to deal with any 3rd parties that may come. Apex’s gunplay and movement is second to none but has tons of issues due to being run on a modified source engine (a old outdated engine used for games like half life and portal) and with it being so old it comes with lots of bugs and issues

Really appreciated your Apex journey. Even if it wasn't your feel and the current ranked leaves much to be desired, these kind of steps are the exact kind of thing others who feel begrudgingly stuck in their current 1 game should take.

Keep up the great work SVB, and enjoy D4

a good way to take control of a third party situation is trying to not fight in a choke point, you don't want to be here because you'll get pinched if a third party comes along. if you're getting third partied try to make the two enemy squads fight each other while playing more passively to not draw attention to yourself. then you become the third party of your own fight

SVB! First off this is hilarious as both a former apex player and an og ow player. Secondly I really like this format. Applying the "Master and Apprentice" structure beyond ow characters and to other games is pretty engaging. Keep it up!

One thing you learn is how to wrap up fights quickly and not to over commit to a fight. Assessing if you can win a fight quickly and having a get out strategy is key in high level play. That helps against third-parties.

the 3rd partying problem is actually better then it used to be, since the map has been changed many times to remove quicker rotations, and also generally people are more aware and consious of 3p

I played Apex from its release until the release of OW2, I'd never played OW1 so I didn't have any expectations for it but I was pleasantly surprised by how simply FUN the gameplay was. As much as I love Apex that's kind of been my issue with it, Apex is a skill-based BR FPS and it makes the gameplay loop really tedious and tiring (especially if you played for 3 years like I did) and while Blizzard may suck the core gameplay they've sculpted for Overwatch is too FUN to put down sometimes, idk maybe that'll change after I'm jaded

hello SVB, as a french apex legends guide creator, i must say, i am happy to see the face of despair of people that genuinely tries to play apex. This game is both horrible and godtier. Very cool video and i really like the fact that you're keeping your calm minded way of analyse a game you dont know so much about it. love u!

Honestly the biggest thing that has kept me from trying Apex is the BR model. I've always been seeing it as the main competitor to OW, I'm just not a battle royale person. If I could start with basic tier loadouts maybe but between starting blank and, I'll be honest, having maybe average aim all I could really do is watch Apex while getting by with OW. Found DRG last year and that has scratched my Coop itch so maybe Apex is worth looking into if I ever want to get back to a PvP shooter.

Thank you for really giving apex a shot! i was expecting to click on this video and hear somebody just talk so much sh!t about it, but you really sat back and experienced the game. I'm not a fan of overwatch, but i still see why people love it. Apex is what makes my heart happy, i just wish you could've experienced it in a better state.

3rd partying isn’t the biggest deal when you get more used to the game. Having map sense for positioning and potential escapes plans, recognizing a third party voice line, and just generally knowing when/where 3rd parties will occur really help. For instance, when 2 of the last 3 squads are fighting, you need to fully expect the 3rd to team to join in.

As a Lifeline main that started playing ranked 13:45 I so relate to what you’re saying. I especially hate when my teammate only chooses to turn on their mic once they’re knocked or dead to curse me out because they decided to prematurely push a team. Especially when they’re out in the open and not getting to cover yelling at me to come get them at the worst possible moment. I actually get happy when they d/c from the game cuz I’m like only person you’re punishing is yourself lmfaooo 💀

Great series SVB! I would be really curious to see you take on a fighting game (like SF 6 for example).

This is my first video I’ve watched from you I’m a 2x apex pred and 5x masters player and I love seeing new players and their thoughts behind the game and rank system. And a colab with a YouTuber I love watching! You definitely earned this sub!

I hear ya on the 8 team party 😂 but nothing is more satisfying then being the first team there and the last team standing !! A bunch of teams fighting at once gets pretty sweet
