YES! This happens ALL the time. When we have a patient that is actually honest right away, I commend them. Haha it’s so rare. The doctor I work with actually starts charging an extra fee to “repeat” offenders.

When I was in braces my orthodontist had to move a bracket and when they were curing the glue I couldn't help but think that the hygienist was kinda rushing and not curing it properly. (At that point I had had multiple different adjustments but no broken brackets and knew roughly how long it took) Sure enough about a week later I was eating OATMEAL for breakfast and the bracket popped off. Of course no one believed that it had actually just popped off and I was given the "ok yeah sure" treatment and it was so frustrating!!!

I only ever broke one bracket
My mom made homemade s'mores ice cream, and the chocolate chips in it froze and snapped off a back bracket while I ate. It was the very last one on the top left and for some reason I didn't take it off the wire, I just left it there, and I still dunno where it went. So yeah, I ate a bracket and am probably lucky I didn't break a tooth.
The ice cream was fucking delicious though, I wish we had some.

No lie I was just on my bed feeling my braces and I was like🤭cause I felt relief and I was like no no no and looked in a mirror and I had broken a bracket

I was at the ortho one time getting my braces tightened and the lady had just taken off the colored bands and the wires and I went to go brush brushed my teeth. One of my brackets fell off, and so I told her, and then she accused me and said it was because I was eating jolly ranchers. Truth is, I stayed true to the food rule when I had braces and I didn’t eat any hard candy the entire time I had them. So she literally accused me with no evidence lmao

There actually was a time once when i was just sitting, not eating ANYTHING and a whole bracket just popped right off. I had just got done with an appointment too. My orthos suck tho and have a pretty nasty rep for screwing up peoples braces, including mine almost every time i have been.
