While this arrangement doesn’t quite have the power/gusto of the original for me, the choir are KILLING it! The lyrics for this game are beautiful bits of poetry and this choir have incredible diction that really makes the lyrics soar in a way they don’t in the game.

Finally we get to hear this music as it was meant to be heard. My one and only problem with Soken's music, both in XVI and XIV is that he patently refuses to try to upgrade his production software or use an orchestra, and I feel it really hampers the sound of his compositions.

Listening to this recording though, even through subpar audio quality, you can immediately hear that he clearly has the compositional chops to be considered a genius. He just really needs to stop holding himself back from his refusal to embrace modern production technology.
