I love how the main question in FF16 is "Why would Gods need armies?", and the answer it gives is "Gods can't hold territory".

To explain what happened in the scene, the showoff between the Eikons are just for deterrence. Similar to how Nukes work in real world, Mutually assured destruction (MAD). Bahamut only appeared when the threat of Odin enters the battlefield. Odin, maybe could have just wipe out the entire battlefield, leaving only mostly his armies, but Bahamut appearing signals that if he did so, Bahamut could have easily return the favor. That's why most of their casualty seems like just collateral. They don't want show direct attack as the other monster could just easily do the same.

The funniest thing from this scene is when they both just leave and then they get a drink like their idols performing on stage lol

Bahamut and Odin were always my favorites. To see them like that. Chills.

It looked like they just goofed off a bit, but they pretty much made exchange of their strongest moves and reached stalemate.
Bahamut Megaflare is feared breath of death and Zantetsuken of Odin is famous 1 hit blow kill. They used them against each other and knew they would not survive direct hit of each other unscathed.

I watched the stream. I will say, I have never seen asmon being so entranced by a video game since the time I have been watching him.

If anyone was confused, my guess as to why Bahamut took to the field and only exchanged a few blows, is that if he hadnt, Odin would have eliminated their forces in a flash.

Him going out there to face him served as a distraction to divert attention away from the army and to drain his mana. Making it a battle of attrition.

Aye so. In the game we've heard that priming (turning into the Eikon) takes a ton of Aether. They can't hold it forever.

We've also heard someone say, in regards to Titan at the time, that were the Eikon to take the field, there wouldn't be much left of their troops had they sent in some to aid the army.

Eikons are a massive drain of power and will kill everyone around from their fighting. Bahamut only went out to stop Odin from decimating the troops. So they had a brief clash, and that's all that was needed.

Just a quick "Go back or I will be there to stop you."

It's crazy how massive bahamut's wings are compared to his main body.

It seems many people didnt get this scene, as mentioned many times in the lore, Eikons are like weapons of mass destruction, if one uses it the other will use it too causing mutual destruction just like irl. The short fight was enough to prove that point as many soldiers got nuked by both sides.
