Thanks for sharing! I like the way you 'mitered' the corner (1:01). Great work!

Good job! The only problem is the color selection they have available. Why the hell do they keep only 3-5 SAME colors in every store and online? No variety! I remember using this same exact black marble color like 20+ years ago.

Also seems like a good option if you're thinking about a big color change in your countertops, but you're not sure. Cheap option before going off and spending thousands and then not liking it.

I'm looking at doing this, I'm wondering if you can peel if off and start over if you make a mistake?

You did such a good job!.. looks awesome.. is the paper super sticky?.. do you think it would work on the outside of melamine cupboards?.. I bookmarked your DIY site and your article on contact paper is super informative.. now my mind is going with possibilities as I'm a renter and can't make any alterations in my unit

Do you find this product hard wearing and does it stay stuck down over time as would love to give my old worktops a makeover

Tried this years ago, it was a good temporary fix. Sometimes it will peel

DC Fix is not thick enough for countertops. It should not be used. Sure you can wrap it and have it look okay for a short while, but it's not made for durability.

All of these make it look so easy but the amount of times I screamed and peeled back to try to fix wrinkles! Omg, easily the most frustrating diy I've ever attempted!

No way. I went from watching real stone install, to concrete countertop install, to wood but hers block, to epoxy coating, to daich sreasstone and Rust-Oleum coutertop transformations, to countertop paint from a few places like beyond paint, and not there is vinyl wrapping of the countertop lowesr on the list.

Wow, there are a lot of ways to do countertops and it being the single most expensive thing in the home I would guess it is no suprise how many levels there are of diy and professional applications available. I think the epoxy is the best you can do for the price but if you are cradty the concrete is definitly the beat period. Well beaides a real stone like granite or similar products. I saw an amazing wood and stone mixed countertop that had wooden bitvhers blocks that were able to be removed and used as cutting boards then washed off and they went back into the epoxy flush and nice in a cubby they made for them on each side of the kitchen by far my favorite but maybe i would like stone or concrete and an epoxy coating and two little cubbys for two butchers blocks about 2 feet long by 1.5 feet wide. The butchers blocks could have two extra blocks for when you need more or one gets dirty and you can use the other in place while it dries or whatever. Also i want to do lighting strips in the epoxy but of corse lights go out so i am trying to find a way to install lights with replacable bulbs or strips in the vourertops on the bottom side so they are light up like the fourth of july.
I am probably just going to paint the countertop in the rental unit i have today and do the epoxy in mine first next week. Then if all goes well i can do the epoxy on the rental unit which has too be done quick so the renters are not effected to much. My rental is a vacation rental on the beach and rents three days at a time usually for a few hundred a night and it's booked solid for the next two years. I can't afford to eff around.

Looks amazing but it can't be very durable. Is there some kind of sealer you could use?
