5 Watches to BUY NOW (Not Rolex)

It is currently an interesting time in the watch market. Rolex watches are hard to get from AD and Patek watches sometimes trade several times the retail price. Here are some great watches that I would recommend if you are looking for something interesting and not Rolex.

Longines is a magnificent watchmaker that doesn't get anywhere near as much love or respect as they should. Even when watch reviewers want to say something good about Longines they always start like you did, John, "Longines, I know...". I don't think one should be apologetic for recommending Longines and putting it up there with the big boys.

IMO the #1 watch to buy now is the Omega Speedy FOIS. It was discontinued in late 2020 and had production run of maybe 16000. That means that there are more Speedy Professionals produced per year than there are Omega Speedy FOIS in total. If you are lucky you might find a left over one at a OB. Some people are stocking up on them like crazy. I could be wrong but don't sleep on the FOIS.

Swatch is doing great things with Longines now and reclaiming some of its past prestige. I really like that Bigeye. Great review.

Cartier, huh? I sold my Cartier Tank Solo last summer. For Christmas I gave myself a JLC Reverso Classic. I like wearing my JLC more than the Cartier.
