I can’t believe with the pricing of Rolexes crashing, people still promoting it as an investment … it is not investment because a beginner watch collector cannot get the inventory from the AD, and definitely not scalable…. If this video to encourage beginners to obtain their investment Rolexes on the 2nd hand market … good luck to the buyers ….

You left out perhaps the most significant details when it comes to buying/selling Rolexes.

Respectfully, buying any of these watches at retail price is extremely difficult. It could take years of waiting.

And buying any one of these on the pre-owned market, at a reasonable price is even more difficult.

Used Rolexes usually go for more than new retail prices. So unless you bought one already 5-10 years ago, or you bought one from someone who sold you it at a foolishly low price, there is very little room to make any profit (with the exception of buying any of these unicorns at retail price from an AD).

Buying one of these on the used market will cost you that increased 50% to 150% price increase that you mentioned already. So buying a used Submariner for $15k to $25k isn’t going to make you any money… unless you wait 10+ years to sell it… maybe.

No one knows what the future holds with watches’ values. Some high-value second-hand Rolexes have recently came down in price/value by 50% or more. Some recent Daytonas and two tone models are good examples of money losers. If you can get a deal on a used Rolex now, it’s probably because it’s market sales value has also came down. 🤷🏻‍♂️

No watches are an investment. Rolex' heyday was when they were just regarded as tool watches (not watches for tools). If you are looking for an investment to lose money get into short-selling.
