What If Uncle Iroh Killed Ozai in Avatar: The Last Airbender

There are a number of things that could be done differently in Avatar the Last Airbender. Whether or not that would make it a better show is up to the viewer. Though one thought creeps into the minds of Avatar fans, how did Iroh and Ozai leave things when Iroh left with Prince Zuko? Did they ever reconcile their differences? Well What if Iroh fought Ozai instead of Aang? Talk about a curveball. A change like that would completely rewrite the tone and themes of the original show, or would they? Well kind of...but not as much as you think. In this “what if?” scenario, we look at what would happen if Iroh took on Ozai instead of Aang. Aside from the actual fight we would look at why Aang would choose not to fight Ozai and why Iroh would in the first place. Not only that, but there is also the aftermath to think about. What would Iroh’s life look like after he defeated his brother? How would he handle that trauma? We look at these questions and really get into the weeds of what fame can do to someone who never really wanted it to begin with. I mean how would the history books treat Iroh in the years following this? Not only that, but how would this sit with Aang? It is possibly one of our most ambitious “what if?” scenarios to date. It would be a sibling rivalry that would make Azula and Zuko look tame by comparison for sure.

People is shaped by pain. If Iroh had not lost his son, he would have been a different person.

All things happen for a reason, it was always the destiny of the avatar to bring down the fire lord and bring peace to the world. I think the way it happened was the way it was always supposed to be.

Knowing how chill Uncle Iroh is, the war would have ended a long time ago and he would conquer the land by having some jasmine tea with the leaders.

Regardless, Iroh is an amazing and inspirational person. Sure, he would become a kinslayer and it would hurt him greatly, but I think he'd learn the greatest lesson of them all:

Victory is sweet, but it is also bitter.

Regardless, Iroh is an optimist. Even with such a huge regret of killing his own brother (sadly, there wasn't another way), he would live a happy life with tea. His tea shop would become even more world famous.

Everyone thinks ozai can beat iroh easily.
But the truth is
Iroh can defeat ozai in just one minute.
Because he learns different firebending techniques by watching other bending techniques. none of the existing firebenders couldn't make it.
He wont kill ozai even if he can.because it will give wrong message to future generation

A better scenario would've been if Iroh just became Fire Lord as planned, no need to go when Aang gets involved. Just have Iroh be the one who makes the calls on the war. Which...if that'd been the case everyone would've been SCREWED. Iroh studied all three other nations EXTENSIVELY and knew their cultures and military strategies inside and out. If he'd been the leader of the Fire Nation war effort he would've had every bowing down to him and drinking tea.
