The German federal prosecutor's office searched a boat in January that was suspected of carrying explosives used in the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipeline detonations in September, according to a statement from the prosecutor’s office. CNN’s Melissa Bell reports on Germany’s investigation and the latest developments from the war in Ukraine. #CNN #News

Why don't you report on Ukraine losses?

I've been a German diving instructor myself since 2001, 3000 dives with special training in technical deep diving up to 60 meters.
For a dive at a depth of 70-90 m in the Baltic Sea, it requires far more training than I have myself.
Cold (around 3 C or 35 F), darkness, currents, narcosis, oxygen poisoning, mixed breathing gases, bottom times, decompression times, special diving equipment, surface conditions etc. But now comes the best part, bringing 500 kg of explosives down there, attaching them to a pipeline with a remote detonator, etc. is about as difficult as a mission outside the ISS space station. This doubles or quadruples the risk and the necessary training. Without having simulated and practiced this several times in real conditions, it is tantamount to suicide.
The work creates much more bottom time and more breathing gases such as helium and oxygen are required. Countless stage diving tanks that the diver can no longer carry himself have to be placed at different diving depths. Since the diver has to work (move) down there, he cannot carry 20 scuba tanks with him, so the necessary breathing gases for decompression are on lines at different depths so that the diver can use the right breathing gas in the decompression phase during the ascent.
A small mistake at this depth and the probability of having an accident or dying is 99%. A person's personal psyche alone has to be more than top-notch, tough as that of a Navy Seal for a mission like this. I wouldn't want to risk my life for 100 million euros. All this then has to be planned minute by minute on the surface, with gases mixed and individually adjusted to the dive time and depth. The diving team must be coordinated and everyone must be able to entrust their lives to the others, i.e. the team must be trained under such circumstances as the football team of a Premier League Soccer Club, 2nd division football is not possible.
Such a dive can easily last several hours without a planning phase and after that, the diver is not allowed to dive for up to 24 hours to eliminate the excess gas in the tissues otherwise, he runs the risk of developing caisson disease (decompression sickness). The dives don't start with explosives either, first test dives are made. the equipment has to be checked, lines with deco gas have to be attached at different depths and at least one line to the pipeline has to be laid in order to make the way down later without losing time or being swept away by the current. All this in a few days in 3 places under these conditions is IMPOSSIBLE!!!
Since there is no way to order spare parts on the high seas, the whole equipment has to be on board twice in order to be able to repair devices in the event of technical defects (which will 100% occur with so much equipment) without having to abort the mission. The transport and delivery at the port of so many scuba tanks/breathing gases, compressors and special equipment would have caught the eye of any idiot at the site (we're talking about truckloads here, something that doesn't fit in 10 cars), and must have been borrowed from many specialized dive shops in the area since there is no individual, except the military, that owns so much equipment privately or just buys it on Amazon.
The compressors for the breathing gas cannot simply be plugged into a socket, the generator on board a yacht is not designed to run these compressors, which far exceeds the performance of the ship's generator. I could go on and on for hours about why the whole thing is impossible, we're not talking about a 40-minute dive on a reef in the Bahamas at a depth of 20 meters, with a visibility of 30 m and 28 C / 82 F water temperature. The difference is comparable between a sports pilot to an astronaut who has to work outside of the ISS space station.
Anyone who is familiar with technical diving knows exactly that something like this is only possible with robots/mini-submarines and highly developed special equipment from the Navy, which we, as average people, probably don't even know exist. Even if they had all that and also the training etc, the diving physics and the diving physiology remain, these are constants that cannot be shaken. This would make it impossible for 2-4 divers to complete such a mission in such a short time on a normal ship not designed for technical deep diving!!! It just does not work!!! IT IS A LIE!!!!

As a native men from Europe i would suggest to USA administration not to come to our country. If you change administration and use public apology maybe and i say maybe there is a chance we in Europe can be friends with the USA. My family almost lost their house thanks to blowing up the pipelines . How you may ask ? well the gas bill went triple up and now we buy it from Norway and USA and we all thought the blame was on the Russians. Now that Seymour Hersh presented the truth as i wrote above. I would suggest you change your administration and do it fast and then public apology for all the "crap" your current administration did and maybe the world and the USA can start, how do you say now days in USA.. Healing process ? yeah let us call it like that..

This would be the direct result of the lack and never ending delays and excuses for holding back equipment.

Anders Rasmussen has the experience, I wish US, UK, NATO etc would listen to him now.
I'm not a hawk, but I can see inactivity now, having disastrous repercussions over the next decade.

Longer range weapons means Russia will take more of ukraine to create a larger buffer zone. Its funny to see this secretary act like he cares about ukraine while everything he suggests is what's destroyed ukraine so far and will result in a tactical loss for ukraine and is already a loss for taxpayers
