Thank you for not putting obnoxiously loud music in your videos.

I have been friends with Jane's brother for many years. He of course told me the story of his sister's murder. He had been stationed in Viet Nam when this occurred and was naturally given leave for her funeral. Just back in 2018 a detective flew to California to interview my friend. I have read countless articles, seen documentary's and also read Miss Cooper's book and your account of the tragedy is by far the best. Your research capabilities are unbelievable. You sir are definitely a cut above the rest. I'm going to send your video to Jane's brother. Thank you for your compassion and the high regard you showed for Jane. Her brother told me what a beautiful, funny quirky and highly intelligent girl his sister was. And thank you for the respect you showed. thought-out . I know he appreciates how kind you were to her. Thank you so much

If I’m somewhere and locks on the door don’t work I don’t stay there

I've seen so many documentaries that endlessly draw out the tension, or flood the visuals with irrelevant video clips or photographs, or constantly flip the photos back and forth to pad the content. Your videos are an excellent example of how to do it right! I always click on your videos, and I'm never disappointed. Thank you.

Wow. Somebody who had an issue with you channel contacted you directly and were reasonable in their request? Who knew those people actually exist?
Great job with the video, and with the explanation!

The DNA may not even have been entered into Codis until after 2006. When Codis came online, there was such a backlog of DNA that the techs who entered the DNA started with current cases and worked their way back. Since Sumpter was already in jail and the crimes were old it was probably at the end of the line. Many places uploaded to Codis part-time when there was a break in the workload so there are many reasons it could have been entered even later than '06. Great story, thanks guys! I feel so bad that her parents never lived to see it solved.

I’m glad things worked out with Don Mitchell. It’s sort of shows that y’all are good guys behind-the- scenes as well. Thanks for supporting Don!

Wow! Thank you so much, Nigel. As I said below, your response was professional and candid. I didn't know you were going to mention the book, so thank you for that. Good job with the video, too. I'm sorry to be late in saying all this. I got very busy with something I wrote and although you told me you'd re-edited the video, I didn't go looking for it. T ime to subscribe!

This is why I love you guys so dearly, you always let us know if something is different, or if you made a tiny mistake (just to be clear I don't feel like this was a mistake, just accidental oversight)
You're so transparent with everything you do that I trust you implicitly, and I'd wager you'd get everyone else watching saying the exact same thing.
It shows you love and respect us as an audience, and we love and respect you back for it.
Great video as always btw 😊

I was wondering why the doors were always open till they said about the issues at the building. Poor woman was left vulnerable by the universitys cheapness&poor planning.

I always listen until the end because you do not drop on for 10 minutes of exposition before getting to the thrust of the case like some other channels. Some drone on with so much irrelevant back story, I lose interest before they ever get to the details of the crime. Your narration is strong, animated and natural. Superior production in my humble opinion. Please carry on as you were, I am a loyal subscriber.

Very strange that at Harvard and someone from a prominent family would live in such a terrible place. Crazy. What were the priorities?!

If you're somewhere where your lock doesn't work and you can't get it fixed, sticking a wedge into the door frame will help keep it closed when you're inside. You want it on the side with the hinges - and this doesn't work if the door opens outside. There's also a kind of hardware that's basically a hinge that you drill onto the wall and can fold over to cover the door - again, not helpful if the door opens outward rather than into the unit.

This whole story is just mind-boggling for me.... I was just a mere 6 days old when this happen.... To think that her poor parents suffered all this time and they probably have passed away never knowing what happened to their child, if she had siblings I hope that they're still alive and now they know.

"Door was always unlocked' is a bad sign. It was a different time, but...slum lords are slum lords, even when they are prestigious universities.

A professor in my graduate program mentioned this case, in a much more sensationalized way- according to him, the mutter weapon had been stolen from a locked case in the Peabody, and she had had an affair with one of her professors who had been married to a German baroness. The story had been amped up by the power of rumor. I’m glad to know it’s been solved, much less sensationally.

Withholding information on a 50 yr old cold case is absurd.

DNA testing is heaven sent. Thank you to all who dedicate your time and studies in DNA advancement. I’m sure one day DNA technology will be available at county levels
