I’m hoping to travel next year and didn’t want to take my charge point off the wall nor buy some cheap unit to travel with so now I’m a very happy owner of both.

Great job describing j booster. Would have like demo to show where to plug in outlet 40amp and then plug into car. Thanks

Purchased for '23 VW ID.4 Chattanooga Model for the same price as the far inferior VW portable charger (which is not included with the ID.4). Connecting to USA NEMA TT-30 RV 125V 30 amp outlet. Amazing construction quality. Worked instantly, charged from 44% to 80% in 12 hours. Now I need to go find out how to get the extension cables. Once I get a 50 amp breaker and NEMA 14-50 outlet this should do 5% battery to 80% in the same time. No reason to look at any other charger for home and portable use unless you need to have the charger on a network or to control on remote (which I wanted to avoid.) I've read it's the only UL certified portable charger in the market - don't know if that's true but it is UL certified. We'll see if the ID.4 is built to the same quality standard as this charger!

I loved mine for about 28 days, not sure if I got a dud but I charged about once a week with it then it began overheating at the charge handle to extremely high temps. I have an emporia that I’ve been using 6 months prior and 3 months after now with no issue Luckily Amazon had a 30 day return policy on the j+

I’ve used mine a couple of times. I so enjoy visiting my brother and sister and plugging in to their power. Juice is sweeter when it’s not yours.

Kitchen Corbyn 😂 Thanks for the review! I've been eyeing this for a while now since there aren't many good safe portable 110/220V chargers.

As someone who regularly uses 120v charging (still on my free EA plan) and is looking for a L2 charger this looks like the best of both worlds. Now I just need to figure out how to get a nema outlet close enough to my car without a garage.

I may have missed this in the video - was this EVSE provided to you for free by the manufacturer?

Nice! I have wanted one of these for a while. All the EV charging nerds rave about it. I don't even have an EV yet, but will probably be purchasing an EV6 soon, which doesn't come with any kind of EVSE. I'm glad I waited for the Black Friday sale since this is a pretty pricey unit ordinarily!

I am curious whether an E-GMP car can take the full 24A at 120V from a TT-30 receptacle, or if it's limited to 16A at that voltage (I've heard some reports to that effect). Maybe you'll get a chance to test that some day? If it can't do 24A then I would probably skip the expensive TT-30 head and go with a cheap TT-30 to (3x) 5-20 adapter for those TT-30-only pedestals (though, this is slightly less safe as the J+ Booster head has a temperature sensor built in and the adapter doesn't).

Perfect timing as I was just looking at purchasing something like this

Does it work with an open ground connection so you can plug it into your V2L port and charge a stranded EV?

Considering continuous loads should not exceed 80% of the circuits rating, you’d need a 60 amp receptacle and plug to support 48 amp charging with that. All 48 amp EVSE I know of is hard wired and designed for use on a 60 amp circuit.

How can you know a charger from Amazon has REAL UL, ETL certification?

Help me understand where an open NEMA outlet would be outside of campgrounds and not my electric oven outlet 😂😂🙁

Hello, thanks for the video, does it fits in the frunk of an awd ioniq5, with the box ?

Have you heard of anyone having issues with their Ioniq 5 thinking it’s still plugged in after unplugging? Happened twice to me so far. Had to shut off and restart to allow me to put into drive.

You mention never seeing 48-amp portable chargers. That's because almost nowhere in North America has a 60A outlet available, so it would be tempting people to make Bad Choices.

I saw/heard no mention of an app to set charging times and get real time status or feedback while charging. The device looks great, but for many people, absence of an app is a deal-breaker.
Any thoughts?

So how much of an Ioniq battery would this recharge?
