E14 - Juice Booster II vs Tesla UMC

preview_player
Показать описание
In this video compare the Juice Booster II from Juice Technology in Switzerland to the standard Tesla electric vehicle charger, the UMC. We also provide a real-world breakdown of comparative charging times for a standard EV road trip.

We are not sponsored by Juice but we do use the Juice Booster 2 to charge our Tesla Model X on all of our road trips around outback Australia.

Didn't realise how much time the JB2 was saving us on road trips until we made this video. We always carry our UMC as a back-up but the Juice Booster 2 is our charging workhorse 😃 Any questions, feel free to post here and thanks for watching!

Interesting comparison, thank you for the video.
Minor annotation (corrected units) to the example used: You want to charge 70 kWh, so with a charging power of 11kW this takes 6:22h. Power in Watts, Storage capacity = energy in kWh.

Great comparison, I like this very much. By the way, I know people here in 🇨🇭 that are working for the Juice Booster 2 compagny. Greetings from 🇨🇭 to 🇦🇺. Marcel

Subscriber number 100! Thanks for the info, Richard. Lots of info on YouTube/web about 110 V and NEMA 1450. Good to hear about charging options for Australia. Hopefully will receive a Model 3 later this year.

Purchased the J+B2 for '23 VW ID.4 Chattanooga Model for the same price as the far inferior VW portable charger (which is not included with the ID.4). Connecting to USA NEMA TT-30 RV 125V 30 amp outlet. Amazing construction quality. Worked instantly, charged from 44% to 80% in 12 hours. Now I need to go find out how to get the extension cables. Once I get a 50 amp breaker and NEMA 14-50 outlet this should do 5% battery to 80% in the same time. No reason to look at any other charger for home and portable use unless you need to have the charger on a network or to control on remote (which I wanted to avoid.) I've read it's the only UL certified portable charger in the market - don't know if that's true but it is UL certified. We'll see if the ID.4 is built to the same quality standard as this charger!

Thank you for the video, newbie on the EV`s world. The question here is, how many times do you find just a plug "on the road" where you can really use the Juicer? Wouldn't you find always a standard charger on the road?

My JB2 died the 1st time i tried to use it on 3 phase, I suspect it was high voltage, using the UMC, the car reported 254 volts here in western Qld. I not sure where to send it to get repaired.
