Somatic Meditation Part 4. What if meditation wasn't about clearing your mind but coming home to your body—one sensation at a time? In this experiential talk and guided practice, they explore the foundations of somatic meditation, a gentle and body-centered approach to mindfulness that begins not with the mind but with sensation. Rather than striving to escape or transcend, somatic meditation invites you into a direct relationship with the experience of being alive—through the warmth of your hands, the flutter of your breath, and the grounded presence of your body. This practice honors your unique rhythm, offers trauma-sensitive guidance, and supports healing from the inside out. A perfect introduction for beginners and a refreshing reset for seasoned meditators.

The present moment is the doorway to the soul and unlike the mind, the body is alway in the present moment. Resting the mind in awareness of the body also brings our mind to the perpetual, timeless, now.

I love posting here. It's like speaking in an empty auditorium.
When I was a kid, my Dad, a physician, decided to knock on my forehead and ask if I was in there. I think he was being funny because I was probably spacing out. The question, however, made me think that it really wasn't possible for me to be located inside my head. This puzzled me for a long time afterward, but I'm starting to get answers.
"Consciousness, the subjective experience of an Inner self, poses one of the greatest challenges to neuroscience. Even a detailed knowledge of the brain’s workings and neural correlates of consciousness may fail to explain how or why human beings have self-aware minds." —DAVID J. CHALMERS

“Nature” is what we see—
The Hill—the Afternoon—
Squirrel—Eclipse—the Bumble bee—
Nay—Nature is Heaven—
Nature is what we hear—
The Bobolink—the Sea—
Thunder—the Cricket—
Nay—Nature is Harmony—
Nature is what we know—
Yet have no art to say—
So impotent Our Wisdom is
To her Simplicity

- Emily Dickinson, poet

"The speaker has no value whatsoever, nor what he says. What has value is how you understand yourself in listening to what he says. He is like a mirror, in which you see yourself reflected. Your consciousness, your daily activity, your unconscious demands, pursuits and fears are exposed. When you so listen, then you begin to discover for yourself not the ideas, the conclusions, the assertions of the speaker, but rather you see for yourself what is true and what is false." —KRISHNAMURTI
