OCD or obsessive-compulsive disorder affects 1 in 50 people and psychologists and psychiatrists estimate that less than 10% of those suffering receive any OCD treatment. And almost half of all OCD sufferers had the condition in childhood, though it likely wasn’t recognized because of the stigma of OCD portrayed in society & in the media. OCD expert and clinical psychologist Dr. Jenny Yip sat down for a full series dedicated to erasing that stigma through in-depth education on everything you need to know about the disorder. She even shares her own personal struggle with OCD and what she did to overcome it.

In this first-of-its-kind series, you'll get in-depth education on OCD & how to find the right care. Dr. Jenny Yip also breaks down...
What OCD feels like
How to spot the signs of OCD
How to get an OCD diagnosis
How to find OCD treatment

She even shares what it was like to grow up with OCD.

Yes! It is exreamly annoying when people down play the disorder as if its something everyone has or that it's a joke. People that don't have it have no idea how terrifying and upsetting it can be. Thank you for making these videos.

I don’t like that cleaning is stereotypically associated with OCD. Yes people with OCD anxiously clean at times habitually. But it’s so much less of what you see and so much more of what goes unseen or unable to be seen. As a person that suffers with OCD.

Having OCD really is like living in a nightmare.

I think that kids should get educated on mental illnesses. In health class we only get taught about symptoms of being suicidal, but I know that a lot of schools don’t even do that. We should get taught about stuff like this

The torture is the stuff you don't see. The thought train is terrible. I know it, cope with it, and struggle with it everyday.

As someone who has ocd, it is terrifying, I find it disgusting that people are associating it with being a neat freak, I had extremely disturbing and violent thoughts, and having these thoughts when I was kid was a nightmare

It brings me comfort to see others are going through the same thing as me and not to feel shame ❤

I am an avid #MentalHealthAwareness advocate and performer, and I love this so much. I travel the country trying to bring that awareness on stages, in classrooms, hospitals, and on my YouTube channel, so I get excited when I see other advocates. 💙❤

Kinda disappointed, I have Tourettes Syndrome, OCD with anxiety. Could you please do a couple videos on TS and more on OCD and anything else related to these disorders. I went to the link you provided on OCD. It was so nice to learn more about it. Thank you. Something or anything on Tourettes with OCD, ADHD and anxiety would be greatly appreciated

It's rather unbearable to me living with OCD people. My hygiene standard is not low but those OCD people around me always demand more.

Me and my family reckon my 11 year old sister has had some form of OCD for quite a while, she's starting to get support from school but my mum has absolutely no way of dealing with her she's not great with children or their problems and just shouts and calls her names-which I think only makes it worse

I can watch umpteen videos on narcissism, personality disorders, even on depression; but I simply cannot sit through one about obsessive compulsive disorder. It’s so triggering to me that it’s not worth it to watch to the end. It’s like my brain writhes around.
