The US won't be best for long. It takes committed Americans to study difficult subjects in school to keep high tech defenses and America lacks the people interested in STEM fields because we need better teachers and more motivated students!!

I think in time we will have a laser system In space for this reason but it’s still a few years away

Even back in the 90s our missile defense had 95% accuracy and now we are constantly improving with smart artillary and lazers on top of traditional systems. We are definitely working on the new supersonic low flying and water born weapons and always improving coverage. In an all out ww3 some missiles could certainly get through but not many. The system does have vulnerablity but I feel very safe. They would have to fire hundreds or thousands at us to get any effect. Or at least attack a certain area enough to overwhelm our defense wich seems very unlikely.
