One correction: A ballistic missile is NOT made a ballistic missile because of its speed or range. A ballistic missile is one that follows a ballistic trajectory, i.e. it is unguided, like a bullet or mortar round. Long-range missiles may, or may not, have guidance capabilities built into them, which would cause either the rocket or re-entry vehicles to deviate from a ballistic trajectory.

Of course, we in the public will never know the full capabilities, which for once is α good thing.

While the numbers may sound inadequate / depressing, published numbers ignoring whatever crazy classified tech the US has deployed are a significant defense. Your also going to receive a response from land sea and air that will turn your country into glass.

Hard case against US missile defenses being anything but impeccable. They just don't want their enemies to know that they could very easily shoot much of anything down so they have a reason to respond in kind. Why would you want the enemy to know that their weapons are useless? Then they would go and build something even more dangerous. It just seems illogical to think otherwise when the US has been thinking about this kind of threat since the moment they dropped the big man

This proves how important our Navy is to National security. That's why I believe more money needs to go into advancing our Navy and missile defense.

I answer your question with another question: how many missiles can Russia actually fire without malfunction?

One of my good friends worked for a nuclear weapons assembly plant here in the US, and I point-blank asked him if we’d be able to stop an attack if Russia launched ALL of their missiles at us at the same time… he kinda smirked and said, “If they managed to sneak a warhead close to our coast or into our country somewhere, we’d be in trouble, but as far as something coming from Russia, they could launch everything they’ve got, and we’ve got enough stuff to take out every bit of it 10x over. Not saying they couldn’t possibly slip one through, but it’s what I do, and I sleep perfectly well at night.”

People need to understand that just because some info about stuff like this is "public",
doesn't mean it's 100% true or still up to date.

If that was the case, you would jeopardize your countries defense strategy.

Explains a ton, easy to understand too.

The US has been developing laser anti missle defense 30 years ago so there is no telling if they have already developed it now.

For our enemies, it's not about how many missiles we could intercept, it's about the response that they know all too well would be coming their way afterwards.

His nukes are probably as effective as his army. "We are launching a nuke" falls over beside them.

“Nuclear launch detected.”

—StarCraft, maybe.

You animated IRBMs more than ICBMs. RV separation occurs after the post-boost phase, but prior to reentering the atmosphere. The downstages are also already separated at this point.

Hey, great video.

Suggestion for a future video. "What could take down the US" goes into the details of how the US could collapse. Maybe things like political unrest, nuclear bombs, rouge president, etc. My ideas are not researched at all, so a researched one would be amazing!

The idea is all yours, keep up the amazing work!
