My wife and I took a Royal Caribbean cruise to Havana after Obama opened it up. We loved it especially the music. I have a video of my wife dancing to a live band at a restaurant. Spectacular. My wife is from Medellin Colombia so she speaks Spanish which was a tremendous asset. We rented a car and driver for a day. Unfortunately their policies limit growth.

I wouldn't want to live there, but having been to Habana once, I'd like to visit again and see more of the country. I enjoyed the people, art and music. Food was OK but not a lot of variety and some things are scarce. We made friends there easily through our contacts. Unlike Mexico and other countries, where a lot of English is spoken, having Spanish skills would help a lot. Interesting history, buildings, and monuments of course.
