When my brother died (many years after his service) there were several men that got out of their vehicles and saluted. Some construction workers stopped and placed their hands over their hearts as we passed. The Patriot Guard on motorcycles with flags led the procession. It's been a few years but I'm crying as I type this. I hope my brother could see the respect and I thank those that gave it.

I met a marine yesterday in Baltimore that just flew in from Afghanistan and all I did was say "welcome home" and he lit up and said "thank you honey most people dont notice me". He said I made his day, little did he know it made mine. We have to stop and think and spread the love and gratitude! It really goes a long way!

My dad is 75 year old Army Vet and has balance issues, but for my wife’s grandfathers funeral whom was also a veteran, he let go of the tree he was holding and saluted for him.. First time I’ve ever seen him salute.. It was awesome.

This is a real American. Every time I talk to a veteran I thank him for his sacrifice.

I'm way late to this party, but God Bless ALL Veterans, and this one illustrates a Tremendous Heart and Integrity.

Lost a good friend in Afghanistan, the day of his funeral the whole town shut down and everyone lined the route from the funeral home to the Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery. It was beautiful! Miss you everyday Devin!

That wasn’t just a good deed. That was a moment of respect to honor a fallen soldier. Much respect to Kenneth for giving honor where honor is due, without considering the inconvenience and uncomfortable weather conditions.

When my father passed away, the love and respect shown by the Army was heartwarming. Even though he served in Nam and all these guys probably weren’t even alive, they still treated him like one of their own. So did the fire department, as he was also a firefighter for 30 years. As we drove by the station the entire FD stood outside and showed him respect for his send off. It was hard not to tear up. R.I.P. dad, the best man I ever knew and a big thank you to both the US Army personnel and the fire department for showing him respect and still treating him as one of them.
