You don't always need a spot, but don't get all alpha and think it's never necessary. Proper spotting is essential. Lift offs are extremely important. There are too many bad spotters out there and not trying to place blame but a bad spot seriously can ruin a lift or in a sense steal your gains. Giving help too early can take away from someone's progression and who knows maybe they could have grinded it out. A crappy lift off can waste energy trying to stabilize and fix it and from experience I can say screw you over in a PR attempt especially bench. Not having a spot can mentally hold you back just as much as physically. Wrongful or lack of spotting can lead to injury. You aren't beta spotting, you a bro !

This is why Scott is a don. Not many of the top youtube fitness guys take the time to go back to basics like this, and very rarely even talk about spotting technique, even though it can be make or break (literally).

I saw someone at the gym once trying to spot a beginner lifer with no stabilization in there dumbbell bench press when he went to spot the person he collapsed exactly how 2:09 showed and he clocked himself in the face with a dumbbell spotting is importing and it's also important to know what kind of person you're spotting beginner or experienced

better said: I'm looking into buying a hex bar, I hear you can get a major advantage doing deadlifts with a hex bar but wanted your opinion on if it's worth it or stick to traditional deadlifts

3:05 - not sure if that guy is aware, he aches his back at the bottom the squat. Could be he doesn't stabilize his core super hard doing the demo, but dunno
