This has to end badly for either Prigozhin or Putin, a lot has been said so someone will have to back down.

I think it is reasonable to expect that Russian ground forces would welcome being recalled from the meat grinder in Ukraine to a nice safe stalemate at home. They are in no hurry to engage Wagner forces and happy to let them pass.
Wagner took the southern command without bloodshed. That is a clear signal that Putin can not count on loyalty from troops.

Wagner has 25, 000 soldiers in Russia but another 25, 000 around the world he could fly back into Rostov. Most of Wagner are not criminals but veterans from the Russian military, especially elite troops like air borne and Spetznaz. As for Putin and Oligarch's wealth they have tons of it hiding in places like Cyprus.
