I’m Reading these comments and please remember that if you have tried to change your diet and lifestyle and you still have high numbers ITS NOT YOUR FAULT!!! Hormones and the placenta play a huge factor in our blood sugar from what every doctor has told me so please don’t beat yourself up. You can be healthy and still get it but it’s not your fault . Pregnancy does so much to our bodies that we can’t control and some things are out of our hands . It’s going to be okay . I have GD too and I’m on insulin . I was so hard on myself but this too shall pass and we are going to do what’s best for the baby and get through this . ❤❤❤

Thank you for your video. I have gestational diabetes at 29 weeks, and have been eating healthy everyday but my numbers are still high. It's disappointing for sure. And thank you to all the women who have posted a comment, it's reassuring to know I'm not alone.

I had gestational diabetes with my first son it was difficult but I was able to control it with diet. I’m on my second baby and I feel like I may have it again, I’m 36 now and I feel like this time it might be worse but I’m trying to stay positive about it. It’s comforting to know other women struggle with this because it is very difficult and overwhelming. I honestly feel more overwhelmed this time around since I have my son to take care of now before I was able to focus a little more on myself and get more rest the struggle is real and none of us should feel ashamed of it we’re doing the best we can.

I remember the day I got diagnosed with GD, during my 3rd trimester. I was really sad and cried thinking it was my fault. But no, GD can happen to anyone. Mamas, don’t be scared. Please see a dietitian and get a healthy diet recommended for your GD condition and STICK TO IT until the baby is born. I never had diabetes but still got it. I saw a dietitian and followed a diet with whole grains, high fiber, proteins, veges, low sugar fruits and lots of water. Even though I controlled my diet very strictly still my numbers were a little high. So my GYN OB gave me a small dosage of Metformin to be taken after my 3 main meals. Thanks to that I managed to keep my numbers under control. Even tho I took Metformin I always managed to control my diet and never did I cheat on it for all those last 3 months. I gave birth to a healthy baby boy. He was not large, just normal weight. And later on my sugar levels dropped too right after delivery. So mamas, don’t be scared. Do the right thing. Control your diet, work out. You will be just fine ❤

You’re so blessed that is NOT staying with you after delivering. I have gastrointestinal diabetes with my 4th baby, but after delivery, it didn’t go away so now im developed that Type 2 and stuck with it and what is worse is, i am currently pregnant with my 5th child😩

I failed my first glucose test and it's just killed the joy i had for this pregnancy. Now I feel like my body is a prison cell that's killing my son. People say "it's not your fault" but then why does everything online say diet and exercise contributes? That sounds like it's my fault to me. Hate when people lie to protect feelings.

In the last month I've had to go from "you might have diabetes, " to "you don't have diabetes, " to " you might have diabetes, " to "you probably have diabetes, " to " you have diabetes." It's been hard. Because I have had prediabetes about 7 years ago, which I got under control, but my sugars were still always on the high end of normal, and I'm also 36 and obese, so I was prepared for the high possibility of it. I was very relieved when I was told I didn't have it by my regular obstetrician, but then the perinatal specialist wanted me to take my blood sugar 4 times a day to see because my baby had gone from about the 40th percentile to around the 90th percentile in 6 weeks. Then there was no longer a question. It's been so much to have to process. After feeling relieved that I didn't have it, it was much more devastating when I found out that I did. But I believe I will be able to manage it because I already have had to make lifestyle changes to overcome prediabetes, so I know I can do it again. You will be able to manage it too. It's a learning process.
