What's been happening in the Motown is a very complex issue with racial, economic, and corruption issues. White flight absolutely did occur in Detroit and racial polarization was a key reason. Detroit has been battling decline for decades, but some Detroiters have hope. Frank Murphy, Mayor of Detroit from 1930-33, proclaimed in the letter -"This is a great rich city. It never has... defaulted upon a debt and it never will". 😥😪😪
