Multiply 2 digit numbers IN YOUR HEAD: simple scenarios

From the video: 82 x 88 = 7216
Tricks covered are AB x AC where B + C = 10 (such as 27 x 23), and AB x 25 (such as 32 x 25).
In case anyone is interested, here is a trick that works for all two digit numbers:
What you want to do is backwards foiling (or LIOFing) It works like this:
Say you have 22 x 37
do LIOF, or Lasts, Insides, Outsides, Fronts
Lasts: 2x7 = 14. Write down the 4, carry the 1 in your head
Then do Insides plus Outsides: 2x3 + 2x7 = 20. Add the carried number and you get 21. So write down the 1 (to the left of the 4 you wrote down), carry the 2 in your head.
Fronts: 2x3 = 6. Add the carried number and you get 8. Write that down, and you get the answer as 22 x 37 = 814

It’s crazy how I keep seeing all these different types of videos showing us tricks to solve math problems and I just wonder, why didn’t our teachers teach us this?!?!

This helped me so much! I'm in Number Sense UIL ( It's a Texas thing where you do math in your head ) and my coach was trying to teach us to do this in our heads in a different way and I was so confused. 2 x 6 = 12
8 x (8 + 1) = 72
Conclusion:7212
Calculator:7052

The way I taught myself to multiply double digit numbers in my head for example 36x32, take 36x10=360 take the 3 from 32 and do 3x360=1080 then do 2x36=72 72+1080=1152 which is your answer.

One question. For example if I tried to do this trick on a problem like 14 x 12 it doesn’t work because 4 x 2 is 8 and 1 x 2 is 2 what would you do there. Or if the tens place number was a nine and you rounded it up to a 10 on a problem like 78 x 94
