Thank you for the tutorial. Just as an FYI to anyone with the same issue. Scalability is on the top right in the "Settings" (gear symbol) pulldown. Mine were set to Epic by default, and I came here because of the crawl. Setting to "Cinematic" cleaned it up without adjusting the PPV.

Straight to the point and not extending it for ad revenue. You just earned a sub thanks so much.

Being a newbie to UR, I really appreciated finding this solution. Thanks for posting!

DIdn't work for me, i have to make a event room and stages and screen, and at the sage i need to make the corners bright so they can see it but after i put the material into the emissive channel i just ger a lot of that errors

What if you are getting this with Ultra Dynamic Sky?

thanks bro that was just to the point, please do more issue fixing videos like this, like reflection flickering in lumen and light leaking from the wall corners

If all else fail, try adding more dynamic lights on those areas as just relying on emmisive lights wont help. It really just needs actual lights. Its the reason i kinda held off lumen for now, just using dynamic lights and skylight with no shadows to fake GI hehe

No difference... my walls look like they have crawling materials.

I would make sure your emissive object light intensity isn't too high, you dont need a high value, 1 is good enough, all the other lighting is probably messing up your scene, if exposure is at the right setting, and your post process volume settings are right, than your emissive light doesn't need to be much... you might have to add a light in to brighten up the area of where the emissive is, but dont depend on the emissive object to act like a light in that area, thats how i fixed it....

SO i love this fix, but mine wont clear up not matter what number i put it to. 30 seems to get the best result but the more distant the object is the more the lumen lights flicker

It works but it really hits performance is there another setting to limit it's use for performance?

These are not real "solutions" unless you aren't making a real time game. Stat gpu shows you how expensive Lumen is, increasing final gather quality will substantially increase your LumenScreenProbeGather time which drastically lowers performance, in my scene it lowered it from 120 to 100fps going from final gather quality 1 to 2. Final gather of 30 is just beyond absurd and would obliterate your entire frame budget.

What you want to do is reduce the flickering using the LEAST performance intensive methods. Increase indirect light intensity on light sources. Use spotlights. Disable "use inverse square falloff" to fill larger rooms. If you are using emissive materials, make sure they are accompanied by a proper light source, or make the material surface shader translucent to disable lumen GI screen traces. In post process, under Lumen GI > Advanced you can increase Skylight Leaking which will reduce noise in interiors at the cost of some realism.

thank you!. This also fixed the sparkling lights in my foliage trees!

Another tip - for large, far away, and simple objects, the flicker can be solved by lowering global illumination in scalability.

Do you have to make a post process volume if the flickering is happening with rectangle light? How to make post process volume? Please Help!

Thank you very much! Finally solved my issue

What if you do all those things, and it doesn't make a damn bit of difference?

I've played 3 Unreal Engine 5 games and they ALL have this issue. Silent Hill 2, Life is Strange: Double Exposure and The Casting of Frank Stone. Is there any way to fix it in game? I've looked everywhere for a fix or help on the internet but this is the only video I've seen that acknowledges it. PLEASE help! Thank you
