I have you tried adding a mystery snail to the tank. I know that will do nothing about the waste but it will at least help get rid of some of the uneaten food

Relatable lol. I need to siphon it regularly just to make sure it doesn't collect at the bottom! It's kind of irritating to see very long strands at the bottom of the tank lol

I had a pleco and some other bottom feeders that did a lot of that in my 50 gallon tank back in the day. I actually had a pretty good setup with some plants and different stuff shrimp up near the filter I had just what you needed to get away with I think I cleaned my tank like every what was it like 4 to 5 months. And the water stayed pretty good pH and pretty clear and stuff cuz had the guys in there doing their thing that took care of everything and I had a right amount of fish too so it wasn't overcrowded at a nice mixture a couple fish that hung up towards the top some metal fish that schooled and then the bottom guys plecos I had an eel down there and I had a blue crayfish then I had a crab a tiny little crab I caught out in the ocean and maybe it was mean but I put them in the fish tank and he lived for about a year and a half He got so big too.

tip for luke - u know that plastic net of ( 5 MM SQ ) it came in square or in hexagonal shape add that to ground just above few inch with help of risers & make a pvc grid with holes which is laid all around the surface of aquarium or tub and connect it from 2 different ends ( 2 sides ) & connect it to another single pipe which is connected to a ( powerful optional ) motor & now connect that with a long wire connection which has a hanging ( or just switch ) and when u see no baby fish at bottom - just succcck the dirt - hope this helps

Someone gave me a goldfish when I was a kid and I nearly stressed myself to death taking care of her. She was a darned poop machine! Never again! Rip Goldie. She lived for six years before committing suicide. 😔

You know you could have a poop eater in the tank. Snails are a great help especially apple snails that are less picky

Grow plants in it! Should eat the nitrates and stuff right up then get some cleaning crew like snails or shrimp

You should try dealing with snails that you want to keep. 😮

Try using a little razor on the end and widen the siphon to cover more area without grabbing the fish.
