Our Walmart sells different fish, but they literally just dump all of the goldfish (over 100 probably) in a 2.5 gallon tank. There were 3 that stood out to me, none had fins, and the tails were nipped. I asked the person there if I could take them, she was confused, and I got them for free, The are now in a 85 gallon tank, growing there tails and fins back, and are being treated for Ich, all showing amazing recovery!

I went to the mall with the intention of buying a hat and saw this goldfish with all his fins bent down crammed in with 10 others in a small tank and I thought he was dead honestly since he wasn't moving . I bought him and gave him a 15 gallon tank and he's been active swimming around and his top fin is no longer droopy. Thanks for the video :)

Some of my gold fish are now older than 7 years and I am so proud of them ! They are huge, up to 40 cm and they live in a nice 180 gallon tank . They are happy, and even gave me babies : ) . They love clean water and good food, don't forget the attention, they really love quality time with its human friend . I have lean that a pinch of salt in the water, can help keeping them healthy . Also when they don't feel well, I just raise the temperature, and they react really wel . For the rest, no especial care at all ! I love fish, all of them .

Its so sad how Goldfish are abused. I hear a lot of rescue stories. I also have 4 which I won at a carnival 2 years ago by throwing a ping pong ball into a little bowl. I didnt do it for fun, I wanted to save some goldfish, I won 4. Im sure most fish die because of this abusive carnival crap. But anyhow... At that time I had a small 5 gallon fishtank set up. They actually fit into that tank. They were small. To look at them now you would never believe it. From there I bought a 10 gallon for them, then a 20 long and now im about to get a 55 gallon for them. This is the largest tank their gonna get lol. I didnt expect them to get so big and have learned a lot about them since I got them. This video was a great help. My biggest problem is the water. I have had tanks in the past with various fish, but the Goldfish are the hardest to keep clean. So my plans are to set up the 55 gallon just for these 4 guys, and have pothos and other plants growing out of it. I have seen videos of this and some are just beautiful. Right now im looking for a black background to use for this tank. Not easy to find! .. Thank you for the informative video. Everyone please keep rescueing these beautiful fish. My oldest goldfish is a commet and 14 years old, hes nearly a foot long inc tail, I just rescues 4 fancies stuck in a 2g tank, it's crazy how little people know about these fish, thankyou for educating people!

Very interesting advice. I've been considering getting a goldfish tank...but I didn't realize what it truly involved. You may have just saved some goldfish lives!

My friend's sister is unfortunately one of those people that impulsely got fish doing absolutely no research. He sent a picture of the "bowl" they had and immediately knew they were being mistreated because he's seen my betta's tank, food, and my water change routine. He's tried to explain to her what she needs to do, yet she is horribly stubborn. Ive told my friend to send this video to his sister so that she hopefully realizes the amount of work goldfish are, and that she'll surrender them to her dad's fish pond at work

Wow, having gold fish as pets is not as simple as I thought it to be. After watching this video, I am not sure if I can even handle goldfish properly. But still, I think gold fish is simpler than other pets like dogs, cats, and birds, etc. Thanks for making this video. I appreciate it.

I love goldfish (especially wakin and comet, like the ones you have!) and would love to keep them one day. I’m doing a lot of research by reading books and watching videos, as I’m afraid I’m not skilled enough to keep a goldfish happy and healthy — I’ve never had aquatic pets — but your information helped me out a lot.
