Don't worry about not having a smart TV. The best way as Jono says is to get an Amazon Firestick or Roku - these are cheap, turn any TV with a HDMI port into a smart TV and the best thing is they get updated and can be replaced - unlike the gubbins inside your TV. I've had so many 'Smart TV's which become defunct quickly as the manufacturers wants you to buy a new one. Spend £20 and become licence free - no brainer!

I dont have a smart tv but i have connected my computer to my tv so i can watch all the free channels through that and they are all free to watch without a tv licence 🙂👍

I have a question. I do not have a TV at home but I do have one at a second holiday home for which I have a licence. My question is, hopefully simple, does that licence cover me if were to watch live TV on a device at my home?

This illustrates the main problem with the TV licence. Your viewer is prevented from watching anything on his tuner unless he funds the BBC, even if he doesn't use any BBC products. Nobody in their right mind could ever see that as fair or equitable.
