The casualness of workers in the ER is the best. I've been there a few times as a patient and also shadowing for IV/phlebotomy experience and it's honestly pretty chill a lot of the time. I remember seeing an ER doc who would legit talk like a surfer. My chest pain literally stopped right after this numbing med for my esophagus and he was like "WHOAAA COOL!!!" Best visit of my life

Was getting Morphine and Dilaudid after recovering from back surgery and I can completely understand why pain medication can be addicting. Going from a 9 to a 0 in less than a second is incredible. Science rocks.

Edit: Storytime! While the heart rate didn't jump massively in the video this is what happens to people know what a catheter when they are told that.
Source. I went from 70 to 110 in under 15 seconds because I freaked out being told that. After it came out, I was high as a kite, but I reportedly "stared a hole through her soul" to the nurse who had to put it in.

I've been in Dilaudid a couple of times, and I would have sung along. It does its job. Next day is kinda rough, always makes me feel like crap.

Currently working night shift as hospital security and for real thought the background noise was just a kid in our er I literally sat up and looked at the cameras when I heard it 😂
