I remember when I went for my yearly physical for XC, the nurse asked if I was sexually active, and I told her no confidently. My mom then looked at me as if I was lying. I then told her no again, and she just said ok and was weird for the rest of the appointment. I don’t get why everybody assumes that every teenager has had sex before, because even though a lot have, a lot still haven’t.

Interestingly, I feel judged by medical professionals for being a virgin. It e feels like they either think I'm lying to them or they want to pep talk me because of my apparent low self-esteem. It made me very uncomfortable

No, I've just never felt the need to give that part of myself to anybody else.

It's kind of irritating and definitely created a bad relationship between myself and some doctors when I was discovering my endometriosis

I'm not married, but I'm also not someone who is interested in casual sex, so my answer is usually no.

20 years old, went to my first gyno appointment for an ultrasound since my menstruation pains were SUPER severe. Gyno sent mom out of the room and asked all the questions, I mentioned I was in a straight relationship (about 2 months into the relationship) but was still a virgin, I did want to look into birth control though for the future. Later the doctor told everything to my mother. I hadn't even told her about my boyfriend yet. WHAT WAS THE POINT OF SENDING HER OUT IF HE WAS GOING TO TELL HER EVERYTHING ANYWAYS!?!?

My doctor when I say “no” has to ask me over and OVER again if I really haven’t had sex. Just because I’m a teen doesn’t mean i’m a rabid sex fiend..
