There's an alternative to hip replacements

People who need a hip replacement might be a good candidate for what's called a dual-mobility implant. Hip surgeon Dr. Marc Hungerford, chief of orthopedics at Mercy Medical Center, said the implant is designed to help stabilize the hip and provide additional mobility. Hungerford said the dual-mobility implant is extra resistant to the hip popping out of its socket, but it isn't meant for everyone. A good candidate might be a younger person with hip dysplasia.
