Sooo true... I met my fiance on a dating app. We didn't meet face to face for a good month. I made him talk to me daily for hours on the phone first. This way when we met for the first time we were not uncomfortable. I felt like I wasn't going on a date with a stranger. He had dated another women before me that he met on a dating app. He met her right away and he said they both were very uncomfortable. Now he said the way we did things is the best way. Plus you really get to know if your compatible.

So true. Actually, having a phone call helped me a lot of times deciding yes or no seeing the guy. One especially was gentle by message but instantly became rude in his vocal messages because i refused sending him pics of myself when he could clearly see them on the app.

Absolutely! In one five minutes call you can learn a lot if you truly listen. I always have a phone call a day or two before meeting and then decide if I still want to meet them. Listen carefully to you own initial reaction as well and evaluate that carefully. I have found that my first reactions have almost always been straight on.

I won't even try online dating. I still love the way you connect on a natural level. First time you meet each other at a party. Or at someone's wedding. First time you see them and feel the attraction, making eye contact, the nervous smile. The first time i lean over to unlock his car door for him, the feeling during your first kiss. Yup! Nothing more transcendent in terms of chemistry than a phone call - it solidifies chemistry even more than video chat imo. I had this guy want to get on video chat just to 'look' at me but refused to get on a phone call- I finally did and turns out he didn't understand a lick of English but spoke it perfectly through text via convenient translation apps.
