5.1 Magnitude Earthquake Hits Los Angeles During Storm

As if the first tropical storm unleashed in Southern California in more than 80 years was not harrowing enough, an earthquake also sent shock waves through parts of Ventura and Los Angeles County. As tropical storm Hilary brought floods to Los Angeles, a 5.1 magnitude earthquake sent things flying and residents running.The phenomenon of a tropical storm and a sizable earthquake occurring together is unprecedented and it's being dubbed "hurriquake." It was actually quite funny how my family and friends were outside trying to clean up our campsite because of the rain. Then the earthquake hit and we were like: “it’s just a quick earthquake. Come on, we’re all getting wet. We need to go.” We were more scared of the rain than the earthquake. Oh, Californians. 😅
