News anchors freaked out on live TV as an earthquake rattled Los Angeles. At one California home, a scared cat scrambled up the stairs. One resident even felt the quake while driving. The 4.7 magnitude earthquake hit right outside Malibu, but it could be felt 100 miles away. Now, residents in Southern California are on edge after a swarm of recent earthquakes. Inside Edition's Jim Moret has more.

In case of an earthquake:
1. Stop
2. Start screaming "EARTHQUAKE!"
3. Make sure you're on camera
4. Post on YouTube

I think you're using the term "freak out" a bit too loosely here

That girl driving just recorded herself committing a crime lol

I'm chilean and over here a 4.7 would be just enough to stir my cup of coffee 😆

I grew up for decades in Southern California. Anything less than a 5.0 was a 'baby' shaker.
Saw no 'freaking out' here save for the cat.

They’re acting like we never had an earthquake before🤣

Bad title. People weren't "freaking out". They've been through this drill before and were mostly calm and even amused. I thought the people in this video were admirably composed. Except for that baby. What a big baby.

4.7 magnitude is practically nothing. Back in the day, it might have been referred to as a strong tremor....certainly nothing more.

What not to do when driving in an earthquake: Get mobile phone, open camera app, switch to front facing camera, and start a video. In fact, don't play with a mobile phone while driving a car without an earthquake, either.

I was sitting in our home office and my husband was in the dining room. The earthquake warning chimed on his cell phone BEFORE it hit and he said..."Uh-oh!" I asked him... "What is uh-oh?" He said I think we're having an earthquake...then it came. It was barely a smooth, rolling one! I rock harder in my recliner while watching TV. 😉 We live in Ventura not far from Malibu and we definitely felt it but there was no freaking out going on.

I am not poo-pooing folks who get frightened because when Northridge hit in 1994, we were in our 2nd floor apt and it was STRONG, even in Ventura. Because it hit at around 4:30am, I was sound asleep even though the window blinds were slapping against each other. My husband had to wake me up and tell me we were having a quake. Electricity was off everywhere, and it was so black that I literally could not see my hand in front of my face. Thank God for flashlights! 😳

I remember when the 5.8 quake hit Mineral Virginia, and people in California were joking that they eat those for breakfast. You want eggs with that little 4.7?😂

This is the mainstreams way of telling you its coming and they know it. 😅

Here in Anchorage there was a couple years no quakes prior to the 2018 7.0. No small quakes means stress building for a bigger one.

Television studios have got to be quite wild during an earthquake due to the cameras and lighting cans swinging wildly above. This isn't that big a quake actually, but in that setting it would be unnerving.

Who would ever share a video of their toddler in a crib on a news show?

You could say that the earthquake left people shaken...

I find it more startling that she was recording herself while driving inside of the earthquake itself

Guess living in tornado alley isn't so bad!!! At least we have some warning. If its storming, just be more observant. Gets really bad, me and my basement become snuggle buddies. I even have a queen size bed down there, if there is tornado watch, I crash in basement for the night.
