The Emperor talks about wanting his Wrath alive at all costs because he is already finalizing his plans to take control of his body as the next host. But his servant has to kill him to even begin that takeover, and if he’s more forgiving than most Sith he won’t do it so easily except out of necessity. Seeing an Imperial world become a husk before his/her very eyes would be the motivation needed to have the Wrath be a righteous executioner — falling into his trap. “Everything is proceeding as I have foreseen.”
