FENTANYL POISONING: Not an Overdose

Parents of victims of fentanyl poisoning respond to commenters arguing against using the word "poisoning" to describe what happened to their loved ones.

Some states are creating laws that identify this kind of death specifically as poisoning. CNN, Fox News, DOJ, FBI, DEA, LA Times, Washington Post, PBS, the medical community, the addiction treatment community, the scientific community, and tons of others refer to this as poisoning.

It is called "poisoning" because evidence indicates the victim didn't knowingly use fentanyl. In these stories, the victim used an illicitly manufactured pill made to look like a genuine pharmaceutical product. The counterfeit pill contained fentanyl.

Naloxone, the active ingredient in 4mg Narcan and higher dose 8mg Kloxxado, along with many generic versions, can reverse an opioid overdose if administered quickly enough. Some areas have Naloxone available for free. Google it.

The smartest way to live and stay alive with this drug epidemic in America is to assume ALL drugs found outside a pharmacy MUST contain Fentanyl in some degree. 8 out of 10 kids poisoned by Fentanyl knew the risks involved, and trusted the dealer or friend.

I agree 100% with the reasoning these poor family members use. None of them knew they were taking fentanyl, so it's poisoning. God bless you all and your families, both those on earth and those in Heaven.

Adding fentanyl is bad. But assuming a street drug is ok in THESE times is just as bad.

Period. If those people were given something they did not ask for. It’s poisoning. Not all the cases on here are poisonings. But most of them are.

It does seem necessary to clarify the difference between an overdose and poisoning. Greatly appreciate what you're doing

Absolutely it is poisoning. I hope those who think differently never have to lose their loved one to fentanyl poisoning. Excellent video and thank you to all those who participate. You are loved & appreciated ❤

We must distinguish between fentanyl poisoning and overdose to fully comprehend the magnitude of the issue. Our children are being systematically targeted and their lives are cut short. The parents who have lost their loved ones to fentanyl poisoning deserve our utmost respect and empathy. By using the word "poisoning, " we acknowledge the deliberate and malicious intent behind these tragic deaths.

It's time to confront this harsh reality head-on, raise awareness, and take decisive action to protect our youth. No more lives should be lost to this silent massacre.

People can be so ignorant and cruel. Fentanyl is absolutely a poison that has been insidiously hidden in these pills. I stand by each and every one of the parents who have had their kids taken from them by murderers. I share their pain.

These children were didn't know what they were taking . I live in Wales can't get these strong painkillers here that can be laced with other things thank goodness. It would be like lacing paracetamol with poison . My heart goes out to these families ❤

The term “overdose” carries a stigma. I’m hearing these Parents respond to “the stigma of the word.” And I get trying to maintain the integrity of their loved ones.

It doesn’t change the bottom line.

IF YOU ARE TAKING a drug NOT prescribed by a medical professional…..”One” that has been #prescribed in consideration of your weight, medical history, symptoms etc. In simple terms; these stories ARE in fact, examples of a “medical overdose.”

Now; she’s right when she says, “There is no safe dose of “illicit” fentanyl.” There IS though, a safe dose of medically monitored Fentanyl. But that’s not what this was.

I accept that they did not receive what they intended. But when soliciting narcotics “illicitly” you cannot be certain what you are getting; and that is why we’re here. That is why these stories ARE.

This argument is a distraction from the goal. “Self-medicating” most oftentimes does not address the root-cause.

Haggling over verbiage is futile because it does not change the bottom line.

The “term” is not a personal attack on the character of these children.

If I “BUY”a drug…One that did not come from a trusted source(not my dealer who I know; not him). The Source…FDA-approved, an actual chemist-produced, legally manufactured by a company licensed to produce this medicine, Source?

There is no way for me to be sure that what I’m taking, is safe! The person who sells it isn’t even aware of what’s in it. Thats NOT murder. It IS “involuntary manslaughter. Murder means death was the goal.

The result was, the intent is not definitive.

And I don’t say this to minimize the gravity of your loss, or to give the “dealers” a pass.

WE MUST change our thinking, if we are to save our children.

Edit: The caution MUST be; If you were not prescribed it, DO NOT TAKE IT!!!! It is NOT OKAY to “purchase” narcotics,

I had this same argument with my dad when telling him about this channel. He tried to say either way they were taking drugs. I smoke weed every night and if someone gave me some laced weed and I died from it I’m sure he’d be singing a different tune.

Thank you so much for sharing and pointing something out that I never thought about in the terms of OD or poisoning. You’re all ABSOLUTELY RIGHT!! Again thank you for sharing and educating people! God bless you all💜

Fantastic video! We (the public) should be more mindful of the comments we make especially on these videos.

I have begin to tell my family members (especially the teenagers), DO NOT TAKE MEDICINE from ANYONE. Go to your doctor or the ER and get something prescribed for you!

The days of taking medicine (even ibuprofen) from a friend are over.

I think it's safe to say no 100% drugs anymore. No pure heroin, percocets, cocaine etc anymore. I don't even live in America and I know this. Sad.

I’m so Sorry to Each Family this Death Drug has Touched 😢! You’re Right, it’s usually in other laced pills.

I think it's a very good idea—very smart—to continue to educate kids that if they take a street pill, they could be poisoned. If you tell a kid, oh be careful, you might overdose, that kid will just say, nah, I'll be careful. Whereas if they totally understand what being poisoned means, it just might save a life.
