I really appreciate when filmmakers take risks without giving af about the box office and critics. I know movies are a business in the end, but it’s great knowing there are still some people doing things just for the love of it.

Just saw this movie last night! It was definitely different, was shot beautifully, and had a bunch of spooky scenes. I enjoyed! Only criticism I have is that they should've kept the "Eight for Sliver" title. That was definitely more fitting for the movie 🎬

Saw this opening night. Just the right combo of body horror, creepy dream sequences, a few jump scares, and a Robert Eggers-type slow burn vibe. Given the rather good cinematography in the indie comedy Cashback, I’m not surprised it would be this good for a period horror film. HIGHLY recommend this one.

Considering that 90% of the horror movies made in the last decade were literally crappy high school projects at best, this was a pleasant surprise for me.
Its not your traditional werewolf flick but its a decent horror and I wish we could see more of these type of attempts.

I saw it in a theater yesterday. It's a bit slow, but everything else was on point. I liked it. And the very nature of the werewolves themself being different than the norm made it interesting too. I'm a huge werewolf fan, and at first I sorta rejected this new fangled werewolf. But the movie was good and I wound up appreciating the difference fact rather than being disappointed by it. And there were some super cool monster moments that were super cool BECAUSE they were different than what we normally get.

I really wanna see this. I love stuff like this. I liked Cursed & Benico Del Toro Wolfman movie too. I'm glad someone is doing a review on this. Thanks Chris you're the best!

The Werewolf genre needs more modern day classics. You look at the old school legends like American Werewolf in London, The Howling, Ginger Snaps, Dog Soldiers ect and think damn its been a long time since we have had a truly great werewolf movie

I was pleasantly surprised when I went to the first showing yesterday that the theater was 3/4 full. Everyone stayed to the end so it seemed to go over well. I liked it.

*spoilers* Just saw this. The wide scene shots were so beautiful, the mercenary scene was a lot to take in at the moment with so much chaos on screen. The gore was so great I couldn’t believe how much blood was being thrown across and how real it looked coming out, props to the effects team. I do agree the whole flash back did nothing for me after learning who the soldier was, there wasn’t much to a BIG reveal. The story of The Cursed (not the ending), a different take on ware wolfs, BEAUTIFUL wide scene shots, and how well the actors did saved the movie for me. 8/10

One thing I do know…even if I don’t recognize the movie, I’ll still watch Chris review it.

This was a visually beautiful movie. Gore and good effects. Started out slow but it's solid. Definitely different from most mainstream.

Stumbled on this movie randomly and glad I did, excellent cinematography, refreshing take on the genre, and an interesting time period. Definitely worth the watch and will be going into my go-to horror selection.

Just watched this. There definitely are some stylistic choices to storytelling and post-production I would've changed but I greatly appreciated the cinematography and the acting. You could see that the film used its money where it counts. Production design was so on point. Worth seeing in theaters to appreciate and give reason to funding films like this. Also, Chris, please review Saint Maude. I'll keep leaving this here.

Yes a lot of dream sequences but some of the best dream sequences I've really ever seen. The shots were beautiful, the scarecrow was just haunting truly terrifying. When the first victim is attacked by the monster she describes it as a Dragon, which people blame on delusion. Then when you see it you very much go, oh, I see what she meant. I'd almost go to say it is similar to a WereWolf movie but more of something completely knew. It reminded me a bit of M. Nights the Village, but of course far more terrifying.

Saw this over the weekend and really enjoyed it. Like Chris says, there are some quibbles with the narrative and not everything lands. But there is a body horror scene midway through that is up there with Alien and The Fly as far as how gnarly and effective it is.

I can't wait to see it. Werewolfs are my favorite monsters but so few movies are made with them. After the trailer it looks like The Witch and that's a great think because The Witch is my favorite horror movie.

Eight for Silver is a much better title for a werewolf period film. The Cursed is too generic of a title and was one of the reasons I didn’t want to see it even though I love werewolf films. I hope it’s playing near me so I can support it during it’s theatrical run.

Your description of this film reminded me of The Night House! When I saw the film twice in theatres last August, I was the only audience member both times. Rebecca Hall isn't a household leading star, nor is director David Bruckner. Check it out if you haven't seen it! If nothing else, it offers some ambitious and perplexing ideas.

It's a mixed bag for me.
Love the dreary atmosphere and the performances are solid. But it can feel a bit monotonous and the creature design wasn't the best.

I watched it. I thought it was a mistake to not have the scarecrow do a little more… it was just ok but beautifully filmed.
